Ok, so it has been FOREVER since I blogged. So these posts are a little confusing...and unorganized, but oh well! Better than nothing!
So, everyone knows that we moved to St. George by now. We are really enjoying it, and REALLY enjoying the weather (especially now that Northern Utah is still FREAKIN' FREEZING!) We are living in a basement apartment of a very new home. It is actually really nice, but we are looking forward to finding out own place. Our landlords are such wonderful people. They are our age and have a 2 1/2 year old boy and a baby girl due in 5 weeks! Josh and Elijah (that is their little boy's name) really love to play together. They have made this transition SO much easier on both Josh and ME! They have had us to dinner and we have already gone swimming together. Also, having Alberto and Sara (Dave's good friends) close by is fun because they have 3 year old twins that Josh loves playing with them too. It's definitely different living here, but we feel really good about our decision. It is definitely hard not living by family and our friends, but it is a fun adventure!
The move went really smoothly and we are so grateful to my family for their help. Thankfully we had tons of help moving out of our apartment and tons of help moving IN. We are so grateful to all of those people who helped us move in.
It is so nice not working, but definitely a change being home all of the time. It will take some getting used to! Hopefully I'll find a job after the summer. It'd be great to find a job where I would only work about 1 day a week or so. We'll see!
Well, I will try and update more! Now that I'm home all of the time and getting real sleep...I have no excuse! :)

Catching up!

So before we moved, we really tried to spend a lot of time with family and our friends. We got to see my twin nephews play their first baseball games this year, which they did so good! It was so fun to watch them play. Josh wanted to go out onto the field so bad, but did good at just watching them. Also, we spent a lot of time with our friends the Zollinger's. Josh loves playing with Duncan and we got to go to the park one last time before we moved. They are so fun to watch, they play so well together. It was really hard to leave them. Duncan's mom Kelsey helped us so much the last semester. She watched Josh every Tuesday afternoon so I could go to work. Even though she was pregnant and was finishing school. They are such good friends to us and we were so sad to leave them! Here are a few more pictures of the baseball game and the park.

Graduation!

So, after St. George (and Dave accepting the job at Zions Rehab :) ), April was very busy with packing, and figuring things out, like where we were going to move, when, and who would help us with this move. Amongst all of this, I was still working, trying to spend as much time with our family and friends, oh yeah, and Dave had a whole week worth of graduation celebrations! First we decided that we would move the second weekend of May. Luckily my family said they would come down with us. So NICE! It was really nice to have such a long time to get ready to move so it could actually be organized. Dave's work was going to pay for our moving expenses, we just had to do the manual labor. I had no idea how expensive it could be! Anyway, April flew by and May came! Dave graduated the first week of May. His parents came in from California and all of his Utah family came to the graduation. It was actually really nice to have them all come. It was very surreal to see Dave graduate. It felt like it was so long ago that Dave started school, and there we were, sitting at graduation! It was an awesome feeling, and we are so very proud of Dave! Here are some pics from graduation. His parents were nice enough and took us all out to dinner to P.F. Chang's (our favorite! :) )

So back in April we made a trip to Saint George for a very small and quick vacation, but most importantly, Dave had a job interview. We were able to see some of Dave's good friends, Alberto and Sara (he served with Alberto on his mission, and Sara was his good friend at USU...they live in Hurricane), Dave's parents came in from California and we also got to see my grandparents who live here during the winter. We got to go to an awesome park with Alberto and Sara and their kids (they have 3 1/2 year old twins, and a 10 month old girl) and we got to hang out at their house. It was a lot of fun to be with them, and Josh loved hanging with their kids. It was also really nice to see Dave's parents. We only stayed down there for 2 1/2 days, so we didn't do too much!

Also, Josh and I got to hang out with our good friends the Zollingers quite a bit in April. We took the boys to Boondocks and decided to take them miniature golfing...interesting! They actually had a lot of fun, but it was a little bit too much work making sure they don't hit each other with those clubs! :) Josh loves being with his friend Duncan! They are so fun together!

Happy 3rd birthday Joshua! (And a way overdue update!)

I know, I know, it has been FOREVER since I last posted anything! I will try and remember! There are multiple posts after this to give more updates...you know, like Christmas! :) Anyway, today his Josh's 3rd birthday! I can't believe 3 years ago we were blessed to have such a sweet little boy brought into our lives. We are so blessed to have him!
So the next few posts will explain what we did for Josh's birthday, and Christmas! Enjoy!
So I thought I would explain what is going on these last few months. So Dave finished his last semester of classes in December and then got to be at home with us throughout December, but began his last internship with Weber County School District at the beginning of January. I was really looking forward to it, but dreading it also because he would be working full time which meant I wasn't going to be able to sleep in...EVER! I would get home from work around 4am and sleep until whenever Josh wakes up (about 8am), and then just pray that he would take a nap around 1-2pm until 4pm. Needless to say...I am exhausted and cannot wait for this internship to be OVER! Well, even though I am not sleeping much I truly know I am being blessed with energy, and patience! Also, I know that the Lord is blessing us with JOB OFFERS! I can't believe it! It is very exciting and very surreal. We have been waiting for this for 3 years and now it is here! So Dave started applying for jobs (even though he won't take his licensing test until April/May and won't graduate until May 6th), but we knew it was kind of a long shot to assume he would get a lot of feedback prior to April...boy we were wrong! So long story short, he has had two job interviews and three job offers. Yes, he has had job offers without interviews! Crazy! So we are seriously looking into two of the jobs. One is a home health/outpatient agency in St. George, and the other one is in Orem with a company Dave is very familiar with (he worked for them last summer for his internship and loved it) Anyway, at the end of March we are going down to Orem to check the place out and see what they are going to offer us, and then the first of April we are headed to St. George to do the same with the other company. We are so excited and a little nervous, but we cannot wait to no longer be "college students"! I hopefully we'll be able to stop working for a few months until I can find a job that I could work maybe part time or PRN (as needed). Anyway, so I WILL blog about this next month or so and keep more updated.
Well, that is about it! I have missed a lot of details but...I guess that is what happens when I blog every 6 months! :)
I do just want to say how grateful I am for my family. Dave and Josh are my world and love them so much! I know that when we move it will be hard to say goodbye to my family, and our wonderful ward family, but I look forward to this new adventure in our lives! Wish us luck! :)

I took Josh to the Discovery Gateway last week for his birthday. He had lots of fun, and he really loved the water area, but he kept asking where the trains were...the boy is totally obsessed! Also, I think he was getting confused because at the Treehouse in Ogden, you walk in and the first thing you see there are tons of trains. Anyway, he had fun at the Gateway!

Trying out the new underwear...this did not go over well! Truly, this is going to be a very big trial for me! Josh is VERY stubborn, and well I am stubborn, so wish us luck! (Notice Josh screaming because he wanted "underwears off mom!") This will be a long road!

Like I said, Josh is obsessed with trains, tracks and anything to do with that stuff. He made a long line of cards and then rolled his trains over his "make-shift" train track! He is creative! :)

We went and saw the lights prior to Christmas. Josh was so darn funny. He wanted to go into the temple. He would go up to the door and try and open it and look at Dave and I and would say "it's locked mom, I want to go into the temple". We tried to explain that he couldn't go into the temple, but one day he'll be able to. He then looked at us with a puzzled face and say "oh, ok mom, I go someday." What a cutie!

Christmas was great! I worked for about 1/2 a shift Christmas eve so on Christmas eve-eve, we did our Fisher Christmas Eve dinner. It was really fun to be with family. Then obviously Christmas eve I got home around 9pm and literally didn't sleep at all. I was so stinkin' excited for Christmas morning. I woke up at about 7am, and woke Dave and Josh up. This was truly so fun with Josh. He was so overwhelmed with the amount of gifts he got this year. I didn't take tons of pictures because I video taped it, but it is so funny to watch. I am pretty sure Josh would have been content with just the stuff in his stocking presents. But after a while he got into it and just got more and more excited with all of the gifts...well, he could have cared less about the new clothes! :) Anyway, Dave and I went pretty low key for one another. We bought Dave a new suit back in November, so that was his Christmas present. He got me lots of stuff, new clothes, lots of new movies, and a big new blanket (which was my favorite!). Anyway, it was a great holiday.

First time for everything

So it is that time...unfortunately and I have my mom to thank for this one. I had my yearly exam last week and my doctor (actually an awesome CNM), she wants me to make sure I get a mammogram. (Is this ok to talk about on my blog? Oh well!) Anyway, everything is ok but she is nervous because my mom was first diagnosed at the age of 32. Well, I am 30...so now it is my turn. She even went as far as to call the mammography office and my insurance so they will for sure pay for me. Well wish me luck. I go in this Friday. Honestly, I am not at all scared for the actual mammogram, just any bad results I could get. I'll let anyone who wants to know how it goes! Thought you might like this comic. Too bad this really doesn't happen! hehehe

September and October

So, September pretty much has come and go...and I can't be any more thrilled! I month of school down and 3 more to go! That is right, Dave is now in the middle of his last semester of classes! Oh my goodness, I can't believe we have almost made it! He has this semester and then during the spring he has another 3 month internship. But that is it, so hopefully he will be done with everything by the end of March. Truly, these last 2 1/2 years have flown by, and yet it feels like this is what we have been doing for forever! Anyway, other than Dave's school, not much has happened.
Dave did turn 29 years old at the beginning of September. Couldn't do much for that because I worked most of that weekend. I can't believe we are that old! :) Crazy!
I am again, just doing the same ol' stuff! Work, taking care of Josh, and being a wife as well! :)
Josh is growing like a weed. He is honestly such a good little boy. He is finally talking more. (Thank goodness! :) He is SO obsessed with Thomas the Train. Oh my goodness, I can't believe how obsessed he is, that is pretty much what he talks about! Also, he makes us laugh all of the time! He cracks me up! I love him so much! Anyway, no other news right now...and you might be asking, "I wonder when they are going to have another kid?" Ummmm, not for quite a while! NO HURRY right here! The thought of working late into the night, being so nauseated and throwing up all of the time, not getting a lot of sleep, etc, do I need to go on? Yeah, I can wait! :)

So, I have finally decided to take the time to post some pictures ( a lot of pictures) from our vacation in California. Yes, we took this trip at the beginning of August, and I am now just posting this! Oh well, better late than never! :)
So we left for California the second week of August. The first day we drove just to Las Vegas and stayed over night there. Actually we stayed in Henderson ( I hate the strip, so dirty!) Anyway, Henderson was actually very nice. The next morning we woke up and took our time and went to the strip and decided to find some free things to do. Pretty much all we did was go to M & M world (which by the way, I refuse to pay like $10 for a 1/2 lb of M & M's that you could pay $3.50 at Walmart! :) Dave was bummed! He LOVES M & M's! :) Anyway, we couldn't really find anything else that we wanted to see. (Dave and I just wanted to get to his parents house! I was so anxious to get done with the drive to Bakersfield)
Anyway, we headed out and got to Bakersfield like 5 hours later! Yuck, I HATE driving! I literally asked Dave, "Are we there yet?" Josh did much better than I did! Next time, we are FLYING! :) Anyway, it was so nice to get to Wayland and Maile's house. We had a nice dinner that night and finally slept in a nice bed! :) The next day was my 30th birthday! Yuck! I am officially old! Anyway, that day we decided to go to the Bakersfield "zoo". Ummm, this was NOT a zoo. It was absolute crap! The zoo up in Logan was better than this one! And it was expensive! Aghhh, what a waste, even though Josh still had lots of fun! Then we came home and Josh went down for a nap, and so did we! That night, Maile watched Josh so Dave and I could go to a nice dinner. I opted for P.F. Chang's. YUMMMMMMMMY! Seriously it's my favorite restaurant EVER! Everything was good! Then we came home and had some Marie Callender's pie!
My birthday wasn't exciting, but it was very nice and just nice to be with my family! A Mexican cruise would have been even nicer, but it's not really in our budget right now! Maybe next year!
Anyway, the next day we headed to Santa Cruz (it was a 4 1/2 hour drive north-west). It is so beautiful up there, but oh, the drive! Yuck! Anyway, we went to a very yummy pizza joint and then went to bed. We were all exhausted! The next day we met James and Trisha and their kids (Dave's brother and sister in law) and headed to the beach. Ummmm, the high was 65 degrees that day. We were FREAZING, until the sun came out, and even then we still stayed in our warm clothes. Dave and James did get in the water! So funny to watch! They were SCREAMING like girls, but they stayed in the water for about 45 minutes! Crazy boys! And the rest of the kids were freazing but they too were in their swimsuits! Crazy kids!
We had such a blast with them, we were so sad that we only had a day with them! We love visiting with James and Trisha!
After the beach we drove the 4 1/2 hour drive back to Bakersfield. We were so tired that night we went straight to bed. The next day we got to just hang out at home, went to lunch with Dave's good friend from high school, Ryan, and then just hung out the rest of the night with Wayland and Maile. The next day we went to church and then came home ate lunch and then we headed back to Utah. Yes, 12 hours more of driving! Oh my goodness, I was about to die! I still can't believe how well Josh did! Seriously, he never had a break down, he just loved watching all of his movies, colored, ate food, and I read a lot of books to him.
It was such a fun trip, LOTS of driving, but overall it was great to get out of our normal routine!
Well, that was our life in August! I will post some more information later! Nothing too exciting! :)

Hello everyone! I am alive, just have been very busy with all of the same garbage...well and a little bit of fun as well. I didn't realize just how long it had been and how many holidays, and Dave and I's 4th anniversary have gone by without me posting anything. I know, I'm awesome! NOT! Anyway, things are going well with us. We haven't been able to do much extra-activities this summer but oh well! Here is the "low-down" on what we have all been up to these last few months.
Dave has one more week of his summer internship at Pineview Transitional Care in Riverdale. He is enjoying it so much and is sad that he has to go back to school! He is getting very anxious(almost as much as me! :)) to be done with school and just be able to have a "normal" life! He has done so well there and has impressed the director of the rehab center that they have already talked about offering him a position...in Henderson, NV...um, we shall see! Anyway, he starts school the end of August again. BUT, this is his third and final year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe we are almost done. This fall he will have his last semester of classes (which isn't too many credit hours, he will go mostly on tues, and thurs and one class on monday...which means he has all day wednesdays and fridays off! Yeah!) Then next spring he will do another 12 week internship and no classes, then will be done around April 2011. I can't believe we have almost made it. It has been a long two years, I feel like we have sacrificed a lot but it will all be worth it in the end.
I am still working full time at Davis Hospital on the medical floor. It is getting a little rough for me. I am just loosing a lot of energy lately. I think two years of not getting hardly any sleep is really catching up to me. I pray I can continue what I do for another 8 months. I am hoping one day I can work in the woman's center (ex. Labor and Delivery, nursery, etc) or I really would like to try the NICU and see if I like it. Unfortunately, rarely are there job openings in these departments, unless I want to drive to SLC to work. No thanks! Oh well, maybe someday! Anyway, that is about all that I do. I work, try and sleep whenever I can, take care of Josh and try and take care of my husband, oh and keep up with all of the household duties as well! Agh, I am tired! :)
Josh is doing well. He is honestly just the best little boy I could have ever dreamed of having. I always say that the Lord definitely sent him specifically to me at this particular time, because if he were to have sent me a high maintenance child right now, I know I couldn't handle it! Thank you Josh for being such a fun and good little boy. He is growing like a weed. He has really thinned out, but is still kind of short! :) He has loved going swimming at Surf-N-Swim in Layton, spending a lot of time with his Grandma and Grandpa Fisher, loves being around any other people. He is very social, and is amazing at sharing things with others. He absolutely LOVES going to church and even more so, nursery. His nursery leaders all tell me he is so low maintenance and loves playing with everyone in his class. They say if another kid comes and steals a toy he was playing with, he will just go find another toy. What a good kid! :) Josh is beginning to FINALLY talk more. For a while there I really couldn't get him to say much, but now, he really is saying a new word everyday. I was very worried there for a while. The only thing that drives me crazy is, he call Dave "cheese" instead of "dad". Seriously, I have NO idea what possess him to call him that. Just one day he started saying it, and we can't get him to stop. What a weirdo! :) Anyway, Josh is growing and learning so much all of the time. I love him more and more every day.
Some of the little activities we have done is, obviously we go swimming, but one day Dave and I wanted to escape the heat so we drove up to Pineview Reservoir and just hung out for a while. Come to find out, Josh LOVED it. He kept saying "mama, rocks in lake". And then he would throw all of the rocks he could find into the lake. He loved it, and loved the weather. It was perfect! Anyway, here are some pics from that one particular night.

So I am a horrible mom, I wait almost 3 weeks to post something about Joshua's second birthday! Aghhh, I'll try harder to stay up to date! So these pics are actually from today, we got Josh's pictures taken for his second birthday. They turned out pretty cute! I like them!

I love this last one. Josh was playing "peek-a-boo" with the number two. We had a bit of a difficult time with Josh at the beginning of the photo shoot, but after a while, he decided to have fun with it! He is such a good boy!
Anyway, Josh's second birthday was a great day! It was VERY low key because his birthday landed on a Sunday and unfortunately I had to work the day/night before, so I didn't have the greatest amount of energy to put on a big show for a two year old...and no offense, he could have cared less whether or not I spent a lot of money on him, or if I decorated the apartment for his birthday. Josh just enjoyed having his Grandma and Grandpa Fisher there and his Aunt Sarah and Uncle Chris there...oh, and he LOVED the presents he got, and he LOVED the cake he got to eat! We had a great time! I honestly can't believe just how fast two years have gone. He is so much fun and we love him more and more each and every day. Happy Birthday Josh! Your mommy and daddy love you more than words can express! We love you!

Playing catch-up!

Ok, I realize that I don't blog that much, but I really have been super busy, and well, once I go a month of not blogging, then it feels overwhelming to catch you all up to speed on what we have been up to. ANYWAY, that is my excuse! :)
So, starting back in December, Dave finished his semester with wonderful grades (good job babe!) and we had an entire month of having Dave home with us and no school. It was so nice to have him home all of the time. We went to SLC to see the lights, and go to dinner. It was a lot of fun. It was FREEZING, but Josh did awesome. He just stayed bundled up in his stroller. He didn't move the whole time because he got cold when he did. I was so mad too, my camera died after these two pictures. I was so mad! Anyway, it was a lot of fun to be down at temple square. Josh especially loved all of the horses that were pulling the carriages around temple square. It was fun.

Christmas ended up being very interesting. Two days before Christmas Dave and I both got food poisoning. It was HORRIBLE! I have never felt like that. And the worse thing about it was that since we were BOTH sick, it was so difficult to entertain Josh the next day. We felt like a semi ran us over. The day after (which happened to be Christmas eve) I finally kept orange jello down that night. Dave was able to eat before I could. I couldn't even keep water down that day. By Christmas day we were feeling much better but we were still VERY tired/lethargic. We had a fun Christmas though. We kind of spoiled JOsh with some new toys, Dave got lots of clothes (he desperately needed them, and I got some awesome deals), I also got him quite a few DVD's (thank goodness for Target's after thanksgiving sale). Dave bought me some new clothes too (which I desperately needed as well.)
After having our own Christmas morning, we headed over to my dad and stepmom's house. My brother and his wife and kids were there too. It was a lot of fun. They bought us some new pots and pans, which I also desperately needed. We got some clothes, books and Josh got some more toys and a very cute new church outfit. (See picture below)

When I got him dressed and kept telling Josh how cute he looked and he kept looking at me saying "CHEEEEESE", so I grabbed the camera, and he was such a cheeseball! So cute! Needless to say, when we went to church I have NEVER had so many complements on how cute JOsh looked! I am biased, but he is a cute little stinker! :)

And here is the most recent picture of Josh in his new jammies! January hasn't brought anything new in our home, except for a very, very busy life. Dave started his busiest semester. Aggghhhhh, is it almost over? To put it mildly, from Tuesday-Friday morning, Dave and I see each other for no more than 3-4 hours. It totally sucks. It's been really hard, because I don't get a lot of sleep, and work for me has been hell, it has been SO busy. Then Dave is SO busy with school. By the end of April, we will have made it through the busiest semester. WE CAN DO IT!
Anyway, that is January in a nut shell! :)
This last weekend was a lot of fun. I didn't work and Dave and friday -monday off. Friday, my dad and step-mom watched Josh for a bit so we could go out to eat...on a date! :) It was so yummy, we went to Wingers! Then Saturday we drove to slc to look at cars. We didn't find anything, but just started looking. Then on our way home we stopped at Texas Roadhouse to eat dinner. It was way good, and not too badly priced for the amount of food you get. Then we came home and just hung out. Sunday was such a nice day. I got released from scouts (it's nice, the bishopric was worried that I had too much on my plate...it's nice :)) and got asked to be in charge of the ward bulletin. Church was so nice to be there, and Josh was awesome! He was so good during sacrament, and then walked right into nursery and didn't look back! We were so proud of him. Going to church only every other week can be really rough. It is so nice to go when I can. It really "fills my spiritual side". Anyway, it was a great Valentines Day.
Oh, one last thing that was back in December. Me, and my most best friends from Snow College met up and went to dinner down in Provo. Me, Julie, Mekell and JulieAnn. Oh it was so much fun! I haven't seen JulieAnn for SO many years. And of course we didn't take a single picture! Oh well, but we have to get together soon again, because it was so great to catch up with those girls! I love you girls! I so wish we lived closer to one another!
Anyway, I know I have forgotten a lot , but I think I hit most of the main things that happened.

Thanksgiving

Here is Josh after his nap...he was attempting to take his shirt off but got stuck! Also, notice injury #1 on his chin...that is from falling down a flight of stairs and getting a nice rug burn from the carpet...just to let you know...it happened again(falling down the stairs). It was horrible, but this was the worst of injuries...thank the heavens for that!
Injury #2...a large cut over his right eye from tripping and falling onto the edge of the entertainment center...this was our thanksgiving day event!

I just realized I'm doing these blogs out of order. Oh well! So, by the pics and details of the pics, you can tell we have been really lucky with Josh only hurting himself minimally in these last few weeks. Yes, he fell down my brother's flight of stairs...not just once but twice within two weeks of each other. It was horrible. Thank goodness he didn't roll down the stairs, he went down them on his belly. I truly have never felt worse as a mother when this happened. I honestly think my heart stopped when it happened, especially the second time because I was right there. Anyway, that was horrible!

The second accident happened on thanksgiving. He cut it open deep and I thought he might need stiches, so yes, we ended up in the ER on thanksgiving. We sat there for 2 hours and all they ended up doing was some dermabond (glue) to close it up. I was greatful they didn't have to do stiches though, that would have been pretty traumatic. (I think more so for me! :) Anyway, I was scheduled to work thanksgiving too, but ended up being oncall the entire day so that was a blessing. After leaving the hosptial we headed over to my dad's house to have dinner and then went home to put Josh to bed for his nap. And that was thanksgiving! That pic is after a few days, it looks a lot better than it did. It was really swollen, but I swear Josh barely noticed his eye was all swollen. He's a tough kid!

Anyway, Dave finished up yet another semester! Did really well! I'm so proud of how well he does in school. I can't believe he has OFFICIALLY 1/2 way through his masters program! I can't believe he has been going to school already for a 1 1/2 years already! Good job babe!

I'm pretty excited for Christmas this year for multiple reasons! I'm so excited for Josh to open up his gifts! It's a lot more fun to see that he gets excited about new toys and books! Also, I am SO excited...I get from the 24th-30th of December off! Yeah! I can't wait! It's about time! :)

Anyway, that's about it! Hopefully I'll post pictures of christmas and new years before...Valentines day! :) Don't hold your breath though!

Playing catch-up!

I know I have majorly slacked on blogging, but I find myself doing a lot of other more important things like sleeping when I get a chance! :) Work lately has been kicking my butt, it's been so busy! Anyway, I feel more tired lately! Anyway, lots has happend these last few months and a lot of holidays have passed without me blogging about them, I'll keep it brief! :)

First we had halloween! I'll be honest, even as a kid I didn't really get into this holiday! It's probably because I have never been creative, nor will I ever be. I didn't even really eat my halloween candy as a kid! Weird I know! Anyway, another reason why I wasn't too excited about this halloween was because I had to work that night. I was pretty bummed! I REALLY hate missing out on these things because of my job! Anyway, I decided to have Dave dress him up in all the Harley Davidson gear I had. He looked pretty cute eh?! They had a fun night though. They went trick-or-treating at a few homes in my dad's neighborhood with my brother and sister-in-law. They had fun!

This has been a fun and busy month! Dave was able to have his fall break last week and then he started doing his pediatric clinicals this week and continue next week. I am just doing the same ol' stuff but I seem to stay very busy. I took Josh to his 18 month check up and he weighs now 26 lbs 14 oz and is only 32 inches long. It doesn't surprise me in any way that Josh will be short, we don't carry a lot of "tall" genes in our blood! Other than that the doctor was very impressed with Josh's development. I am always concerned that he "isn't where he should be". For example, I have been so concerned that he doesn't talk enough (well he makes LOTS of noises, just forming actual words! :)) Well the doctor asked me what he said and he told me, "Nicole, don't worry, that is plenty of words, he's doing just fine!" Oh, it is always a relief when you hear those words.
Josh has been doing a lot of funny stuff. I can't believe how big he is and what new things he does now. First it cracks me up with what he says and what he tries to say. His new thing today for example was, he actually said "Raydon", then he said "Rwiwy"...he was saying "Braden and Riley"...his cousins that he was playing with! Crazy right!? Anyway, he is a lot of fun! The only thing I have been VERY stressed about is, there have been a few days where Josh has decided that he will NOT take a nap and stay up all day....um WHAT? I will DIE if he doesn't take naps anymore. I rely on those naps as part of my "night time sleeping hours". Anyway, he did this during the week while Dave was home, so I'm hoping it was just a flook. (sp?) Anyway, he has done just fine this week though. I FEAR the day Josh doesn't take a nap anymore. I thought it was hard when Josh stopped taking two naps per day, but not having any? AHHHHHHHH! I'll freak out! Anyway, wish me luck! :)
So anyway, last week was Dave's fall break, so we thought we'd take advantage of this time. So Monday, I took Josh to Target with his two cousins, Riley and Braden and with my sister in law Kami, and my step mom Diane. Anyway, we got their pictures taken together. They came out SO adorable. Pics will come soon, we are keeping this a secret because we are making a picture collage for my Dad, which will say "We LOVE our Grandpa". It's a Christmas present for him....boy, I'm glad my dad doesn't look at this blog! :) Anyway, it will be SO cute!
Tuesday I stayed home from work because I felt VERY sick. I had a stuffy nose and body aches. But luckily Wednesday morning came and I felt a lot better. Because Wednesday morning Dave and I took Josh to my Dad and stepmom's house because Diane watched Josh for his first "sleep over with his grandparents"! He ended up NOT taking a nap that day, but it didn't phase him. He had so much fun with Diane and my Dad he CRIED SO HARD when we picked him up the next day. He wouldn't let go of Diane. It was pretty funny!
So to talk about our first night away from Josh was SO fun! We went to SLC to do an endowment session at the SLC temple. It was so neat, and of course we were the witness couple. It was very different because it was a live session. I liked it a lot though. After the temple we headed to our "bed and breakfast" in Sandy. This is the third time we've stayed at this place. It's called the "Castle Creek Inn." I highly recommend this place. It is TONS cheaper than anniversary inn and it was so much nicer. After we checked in at the hotel, we went out to dinner to Wingers...yummmmmmmmmy! We haven't been there for a very long time! It was so nice to have a QUIET dinner and be able to eat as slow as I want and talk to my husband! Oh what a great time! :) After that we went back to our room and just hung out! We had a great time!
Thursday morning we came back and picked Josh up, then I had to go to work. Nothing more to say about that!
Friday, Dave and I decided to have a fun activity, so we headed to SLC to Hogle Zoo. Dave was so sad he couldn't go the last time Josh and I went, so we went. It was a GORGEOUS day and there was hardly anyone there. We had a great time.
Then Saturday, we were able to be invited to our neighbors baptism. She lives right across the way, and she finally was able to be baptized. We have been able to have her and the missionaries over for her discussions. It was really neat. Then she asked Dave if he would confirm her at church on Sunday. It was a very neat experience with her. It's been a lot of fun to be a little bit involved in her conversion.
Anyway, I think this is a LONG enough post, but I guess this is what happens when I only update this blog every month! :)

So we have been wanting to go to the zoo for a long time. Ever since I've noticed Josh LOVES looking at animals (and attempting to make the noises that they make!), we have wanted to go back to the zoo. Yesterday I thought it would be a great day to go because it wasn't hot yet it was a beautiful day. Josh and I went with one of my friends from work and her two kids. By the time we pulled up to the zoo I knew it was going to be an interesting day. It was PACKED! I guess it is UEA on Thursday and Friday. So I guess the rest of Utah thought it was a perfect day for the zoo. Ugggg, I hate to walk around that place feeling like you are in a herd of people. Anyway, we still had fun and was able to see the new baby elephant, I took Josh on the carousel and we got to see the tiger cubs! Anyway, it was a fun day even with the crowds and Josh is fighting something off. I don't know if it's just more teeth or if its a virus. Anyway, it was a great time! I didn't get any great pictures but oh well! Here is Josh trying to crawl through the fence to get to the carousel! Needless to say he was very excited to get on that thing!

The penguins! They were so cute. They were chasing each other in the pool. Josh LOVED these things! He kept giggling at them whenever they'd jump out of the water! It was a lot of fun!

The cute little baby elephant! This baby weighed 250 lbs at birth! Whew! Also, did you know that elephants are pregnant for 21 months! I would die if I had to be pregnant with Josh for 21 months! Anyway, this baby was very cute!

Oh my little boy! Even though I knew he didn't feel good, and we were at the zoo through his entire "nap time" (between 1-4pm) he did so good! He started to have a little melt-down only when we were leaving! He is so fun and man, what a looker! I love this little guy!

My baby is officially 18 months old today! Time flies when you're having fun! I thought I'd post some pictures of the last month and to be able to see how fast he grows (and how he has thinned out! :) ) I am so greatful for having Josh in our lives. He has been so much fun to have with us and I feel so blessed to be able to be his mom. I truly am enjoying his age right now. I look back at the last 18 months and realize how much more I enjoy this age instead of him being little! He cracks me up all day and I love seeing him learn new things every day. I can't wait for the next 18 months! Love you JOSHY!

I got sucked in!

Yes, I got sucked into TWILIGHT...and not just the first book, the ENTIRE saga! At the beginning of August I decided to buy Twilight because I needed something to do at work, because I was scheduled on Rehab, and needless to say, it is a very boring place to work and I needed something to do. Anyway, the rest is history. I have all four books and just finished Breaking Dawn last night at work. Yes, that is roughly 1800 pages I've read in one month! Needless to say, my house is not very clean, I have neglected the house work so I could read these darn books! But, oh my goodness they are so stinkin' good! I even watched the movie! Agh, and I can't wait for the next movie, "New Moon" to come out in November! I feel like a dork for LOVING these books! I was so sad to finish the last book last night! Oh well, now I need some other REALLY good books to read. Has any of you read the new Stephanie Meyers book yet? I don't know what it is called, I'm wondering if it's any good! Let me know!
Oh yeah, one more thing...Edward is so dreamy! YUMMY! (And yes, Dave totally makes fun of me for my new love of this vampire stuff! I know, I"M A HUGE DORK!)

Where did August go?

So where did August seriously go? I feel like it just flew by and a few days ago realized it was now September! Ugh, I HATE the end of summer! Even though I always look forward to fall, but I just DREAD winter. Anyway, to give a little sumary of what we've done this last month...not much except for the same ol' stuff! I'll give a little update on each of us:

JOSH: He just keeps on growing and turning into a "bigger" little boy. The other day I just looked at him and thought to myself, "He isn't a little baby, he really is a little boy. It kind of makes me sad, but not really! I truly have loved this age he is at right now...which by the way, he is going to be 18 months on Monday! I can't believe how time truly does fly! Speaking of 18 months old, yes, I have already taken him to nursery twice. The first time he lasted an hour all by himself. Last Sunday was a little different. I ended up staying in there with him the entire time. Honestly, this church schedule we have sucks! We go from 1-4pm. Conveniently right during Josh's nap time. It has made it very hard, because Josh isn't his happy little self usually, so trying to convince him to stay in nursery is going to be quite a struggle until January, when we start going at 9am. Can't wait! Anyway, he is learning a lot and doing a lot more on his own. He is doing quite well in feeding himself, except when he eats applesauce, it doesn't stay on the spoon very well and ends up going down his shirt! I hate letting him feed himself sometimes though because it is far from being a clean activity! By the end of the day his clothes are filthy! Oh well, he's got to learn! Also, Josh is "talking" so much! He starts talking the instant he wakes up and doesn't stop until he falls asleep! The problem is, he isn't making sense. He doesn't say a lot of actual words, it's just noises, he points at everything to show me what he wants. The funny thing is though, he understands so much of what we tell him. Our favorite is at bedtime we'll say to him "JOsh, go brush your teeth and get your blanket" He then goes and grabs his toothbrush/toothpaste and his blanket. He's so cute! Hopefully he'll start talking ENGLISH! I always get nervous that he isn't "where he should be", in his development! I'm sure it'll come!

DAVE: Dave started school at the end of August. It was a bummer to send him back because it was so nice to have him home with us..and because I never had to pay for a babysitter while I was working! But it is a good thing he is going back, because then it's just that much closer to GRADUATION! :) He is doing really well. He really likes this semester, they are focusing on pediatrics this semester. He is really excited to do his internship for this course. He is going to do it here in Davis County school district. Also, he celebrated his 28th birthday...well not in August, but close to it! September 2! We had a good time. We actually celebrated on the 1st because I had to work on the 2nd. We went to dinner at Applebee's with my parents and then came home and had cake and ice cream with the rest of my family. Then on the 2nd, in the morning before he went to school, and I went to work, Josh and I gave him his presents! Very exciting! NOT! I got him a new "temple" bag, instead of using his backpack, a HUGE bag of peanut M&M's from Sam's club! And then I got him a book by Pres. Monson he's been wanting for a long time. Also, we are going to spend a night somewhere (like Park City maybe) in October or November, and stay the night there and be by ourselves! Josh is 18 months old, it's about time he stays a night at Grandma and Grandpa Fisher's house! They are very excited to have him stay with them for a night! Anyway, it was a good birthday! (Except for the fact that the Gray family needs to work on calling there brother/son on his birthday! Come on Gray's get a calender or something!:)

Me: I too celebrated my birthday on August 11th. Yeah, one more year older! Yes, I am now 29 years old and yes, I am a year older than my husband! :) It was a very nice birthday actually. Dave got me a Friends Season 5, an hour massage, and a cute card he drew....he never buys cards, he makes them! It is a little child-like but I LOVE the cards! They always are so sweet! Then we had a simple bbq at my dad's house and had cake and ice cream with my entire family, including my grandparents. It was a very simple and nice bday.
I hit my year mark at Davis Hospital. I can't believe it's already been a year. Time flies! Honestly I like it most of the time, but truthfully I wish I didn't have to work full time. I'm going to say this once, all you "stay at home mom's", please don't complain about staying at home with your kids, trust me, it's a great blessing you get to do it! And, also, I am getting SO sick of people saying to me, "Oh, you HAVE to work? I'm so sorry for you!" AGGGGGGHHHHH, to those people, just don't talk to me! I get SO SICK of it! (It usually occurs at church for some reason)
Sorry, that was a little release of some stress I've been having lately! Felt good! :)

Anyway, that is about it! I'm sure I missed a lot, but oh well! Here are some pics from the last month!

We finally decided to go on a family trip to California. This was our first family trip with Josh. We decided to go visit Dave's brother and sister-in-law in Discovery Bay, CA. We decided to go on this vacation back in January or February. We were really looking forward to going and I made sure to save as much paid vacation as I could collect. Thank goodness I was able to take two full weeks off and get paid the whole time I'm not there! I love not working and still getting paid for it. ANYWAY! So we decided to get a head start on our vacation and left a day early(last tuesday). We ended up staying in Reno, NV to kind of break up the LONG drive. It was really nice, well the hotel was, Reno is just another Vegas, just smaller! Not my kind of scene. We stayed in this huge casino because it was the cheapest rate I could find. We had a lot of fun. We went swimming and then went to dinner to this "hole in the wall" pizza joint. It was delicious! After dinner we went back to the hotel and went to bed at about 8:30pm. We were exhausted after the long day of driving, and having to wake up at 5am. Anyway, we woke up the next morning, ate breakfast and then headed to California. I have never driven to California via I-80 (I've always gone to southern cali), this was my first time driving through the Sierra's. It was BEAUTIFUL! I loved going through those mountains!

We finally made it to James and Trisha's house at around 12:30pm, ate lunch and put Josh to sleep for his afternoon nap. The first night we just had dinner and hung out, swam in there pool, and watched some movies. Pretty much this was our entire trip...it was awesome because we just hung out and relaxed. We swam A LOT, played with all of there kids, ate yummy food (thanks to Trisha!), watched movies and just enjoyed time OUTSIDE of Utah! :)

Saturday we went to Santa Cruz beach. It was beautiful! It was so fun and relaxing! It was the most fun day for sure!Dave and tons of fun hanging out with his brother James and their oldest son Derick. They enjoyed "riding" the waves in the freezing water! They had a blast doing this for hours! Trisha and I enjoyed soaking up all of the son and watching the little ones play in the sand. We saw a seal come right up onto the beach, about 20 feet away from us, it came up and then went back into the ocean. It was really neat. Then later in the day we saw a school of dolphins swimming close to the beach. They were jumping completely out of the water and stayed around for quite a while. It was really neat! The kids have fun just playing the sand and looking for crabs, eating snacks and playing in the freezing cold water! Did I mention the water was FREEZING? :) I got in a few times, but it was just too cold for me. I had to put Josh in the water to rinse his chest off after he ate his peanut butter and honey sandwich for lunch, which he insisted on holding his own sandwich, therefore squeezing it so hard all of the honey fell onto his chest. He DIDN'T enjoy being the ocean's cold water!

After the beach we drove home, stopped at In-and-Out Burger (a tradition of being in Cali). Went home and crashed! Josh had hardly slept all day so needless to say, he was tired, along with the rest of us!

Sunday we got to go to church with them. It was such a nice and very hot day. We all got to take really nice long naps! My favorite thing on a sunday afternoon! :)

Monday was more just hanging out and then we got to have family home evening with the Gray's. It was so fun. James and Trisha's youngest, Olivia (she's 2 1/2) gave our lesson. Honestly I didn't know quite what she was saying, but half way through her "lesson" Josh decided that he needed to go stand by her and be apart of what was going on. It was one of those things that you just had to be there, but it was so cute! After Olivia was done, Josh started clapping. It was really funny! Again, had to be there!

We left California Tuesday right after we ate lunch, and drove the entire way home. We were very anxious to be home. The drive went really well...actually extremely well. Josh had fallen asleep right when we got into the car, slept for about 2 1/2 hours, then was up until about 9:30pm and then slept until we got home at 12:30am (cali time, 1:30am utah time, exactly 12 hours of driving, with 3 stops total! Not too shabby!) I'll be honest, I did give Josh some Benedryl and Motrin about an hour before he fell asleep, but he did wonderfully! I was so proud of him. BUT thank goodness for Baby Einstein videos and my best friend Melisa letting us borrow her DVD player so Josh could watch movies in the car. It was a LIFE saver! Thanks again Melisa!

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Trisha and James again for letting us come and stay with them for almost an entire week. It was such a relaxing time and we enjoyed spending time with them and their awesome kids! Derick, Katelyn, Taylor (I'm glad you still trust me sweety! :) ) and of course little Olivia! MY little sidekick for the week! Thanks for letting us get to know you a lot better! We love you all and will miss you! Now it's time for you all to come visit us! :)

We made it to California! Hooray! Josh was a complete angel...honestly! He did AMAZING in the car, thanks to the DVD player my best friend Melisa let us borrow! (Thank YOU) Anyway, while sitting here at James and Trisha's house, Trisha and I decided to look at my blog, that didn't have any writing on it...couldn't figure it out. Trisha said, "well lets see what color your writing is in." Long story short, it was exactly what was wrong. I had changed our background, and didn't change my writing. The background was white as well as the writing. DUH! Thanks again Trisha!

Happy belated 4th of July!

4th of July was so much fun! However I completly forgot to take my camera all day, but thank goodness my dad had his camera so I did get a few pictures of the 4th, I'll post those later.
I thought I'd tell everyone what we did!
Thank goodness I didn't have to work on the 4th of July. In the morning my dad, my step mom Diane, my brother Chad and his boys Riley and Braden, came over early and we made a big breakfast at our apartment. The reason we decided to come to our place is because the Layton parade goes right in front of our apartment. In fact we can't leave our place because the road is closed. So anyway, after breakfast we cleaned up and went out and watched the parade. It was a lot of fun, but Josh kept trying to go out into the middle of the road because he saw all of the candy that didn't get caught and kept insisting that he try and get it! Other than that, it was really fun. It was PERFECT weather, and the parade wasn't too long and not too short! After the parade we came back to our place and Josh took his nap and so did Dave and I! After we all woke up, we ended up going to my mom's sisters (my Aunt Marriane) house in Plain City. We had a great barbeque with a lot of my mom's family! It was so much fun! I love being around my mom's side of the family! Always lots of talking, laughter, and yummy food! We stayed there until about 8:00pm. Well, since by the time we got home, it was Josh's bedtime, we decided "forget the bedtime routine, let's go see the fireworks!" So we got Josh in his pj's and gave him his milk, but him in the stroller and walked down to the park to see the fireworks. We went with my dad and my step mom Diane. We ended up in the Golds Gym parking lot, along with a hundred other people! It was a perfect view! I was nervous that Josh wouldn't like the fireworks...actually just not like the loud noises, but he did awesome! He had his blanket and he was fine! He just sat on my lap the whole time and kept pointing to the fireworks and looking at me and saying "ohhhh" ! It was so cute to see his face while watching the fireworks! He was in pure amazement! It made my entire holiday! Anyway, we headed home and put Josh down right before 11pm. This was definitly the LATEST he has EVER stayed up! He slept until 9am the next morning!
It was a wonderful holiday! The 4th of July is truly my most favorite holiday! I love what it resembles and I love th time of year! I love feeling so greatful for our wonderful country and our freedoms. I'm so greatful for all of the sacrifices that have been made so we can live in a free country! I just hope it stays that way!:)

You have got to love summer! I love to swim, in fact it is one of the reasons I love the summer so much! I LOVE the sun and the warmth, and I love being at a pool, lake or somewhere to cool me off! I was thinking that I would just hate it if my son decided that he hated being in a pool, that would be horrible! What else do you do in the summer time?! So I decided to enroll Josh and I in parent and tot swim lessons! They were so much fun and honestly Josh didn't really care what we were learning, he'd rather play in the shallow with his bucket and shovel. Well, it ended up being a lot of fun and now we can go to the pool for pretty cheap! Last tuesday we all got to go(me, Dave and Josh) because Dave finally finished his summer semester! Yeah! Anyway, it was a lot of fun! If anyone wants to go swimming let me know! Josh and I will come! I think I have created another "fish"! Josh loves the pool! Yeah!

I know, it's been forever since I've posted anything! Truly, June is flying by because we have been so busy. Since the last time I posted, Josh has turned 15 months and had his well-baby check up. He is now 31 inches tall (54th percentile), 25 1/2 lbs (65th percentile) and his head is in the 95th percentile! Growing everyday and never stops! The doctor was quite impressed with what Josh is able to do, and isn't concerned about anything with him, which always makes me feel better because I always worry he isn't doing what "he should be doing." Anyway, Josh is growing so fast and is so much fun. He is saying a few words, but he is mostly imitating people around him, and dancing to any kind of music. He always can get Dave and I to laugh throughout the day! We just love him!

Also, last weekend we visited good ol' Ephraim, Utah for the Gray family reunion! I know, EXCITING! You know, I never thought I'd marry someone that I'd have to go to Sanpete County for a family reunion! :) Actually it was a lot of fun. We went up past the Elk Farms and up towards the canyon and hung out at a "park". It was really nice. We got to drive 4-wheelers and shoot clay pigeons, and of course ate a lot of food! You know, I always think of myself as a "city girl" but when I get out there I always love doing stuff like that! I guess I do have a little "country girl" in me!

There is much more to tell but Dave has got to use the computer for his homework! He'll be done with this semester next Thursday! YEAH! Anyway, I promise to post more soon!

So Dave and I celebrated our third anniversary yesterday! As Dave says, "3 years of pure bliss!" Well, yes, it has been wonderful! There is nothing more wonderful than being married to your best friend who you love more than anything and helps me more than anyone else in my life! Wow, it has been so long since I've posted anything! Well, that is what happens when you move, you work, and you have to chase a little boy around! :) (The last thing I DON"T mind at all though!) Anyway, I thought I'd let you all in on what we have been up to.

First and foremost we moved...again. Actually, we already LOVE our new apartment. We really like the location and we have enjoyed our new ward. They have really impressed us and we only have gone twice. I guess it doesn't take much to impress us, comparing our old ward to our new one. So here is our little example of our old vs. new ward. DAve and I were a little stressed to move because we hardly had any help. Thanks to my dad he was able to bring his HUGE trailer and truck, and his muscles to help us move. Thanks to my step-mom Diane for watching Josh that Saturday we moved. But other than that, there was me, Dave and my Dad to move all of our stuff. Well, Dave and I both thought we could "hopefully" get our old ward to give us a hand (at least our home teachers:) to move our stuff out, and then we thought we could call our new ward to see if they could help us move into our new place. We made the calls, and we were just praying for help. (All you that we asked for help, THANK YOU for at least trying to come, honestly, we appreciate your willingness!) Anyway, saturday morning comes, and yes, it's just the three of us. About 20 minutes before we were all done (this is after about 1 1/2 hours of work), our old elder's quorum guy shows up and offers to help. It was nice, but honestly, all the hard stuff was done. Well literally as we were closing the trailer (because we were just about done), our "neighbors" came over and asked if they could help, looked over my shoulder and said, "boy, I came at the perfect time!" Yeah lady, everything is done! Anyway, as my dad and husband were driving to the new apartment, I had to go get Josh, because Diane had somewhere to go and so now there was just DAve and my dad, to haul everything up to our apartment! (Yes, we live on the second/top floor.) Well, I guess right as they started moving stuff, 4 guys showed up from our NEW ward to help unload. They got everything unloaded in 45 minutes! Dave and my dad said it was AWESOME! These guys were so willing to help, and then they said, "Boy you guys had this so organized, that was nothing!" (Thanks!:)) Anyway, needless to say we really enjoy the ward not only because of that but, everyone was so friendly and warm at church. I'm really excited to be here! And I KNOW that we were supposed to move for a reason. Anyway, here are some pics of our new place! (Don't mind some clutter...haven't quite gotten to the decorating part!)

Other than moving, I have been working a lot and Dave returned to school for 7 more weeks. I'm so excited for July, because Dave will be home for almost 2 months, oh yeah, and we get to go on a vacation to Cali!

So I realized today that I NEVER blog anymore! Well, I'll try to be better! :) So I forgot that I took some pics of Josh the other day, and remembered I wanted to show everyone what a "nut" of a son I have! He is getting funnier every day! He does some of the funniest things lately. Lately he has been obsessed with one of my old tank-tops (I don't understand it), and he carries it around and this morning I found him putting it around his neck and wearing it. So the last few weeks (at least the few warm days that we've had), we definitly took advantage of the warmth and spent the days outside. Here are just a few pics of Josh enjoying new adventures outside. This first picture is when we went to the Layton park. It was a lot of fun. It took a good while to get used to walking on sand, but once he did he was ok. But since he is still very young, there wasn't much for him to do, so for his fun, he sat and hit this yellow hand-rail. It's amazing what entertains this kid! :)

Anyway, other than watching our son grow up, Dave and I are about the same. Dave is doing well in school, and staying very busy with it. I am just staying busy with being mom, wife and nurse. My work has been insanely busy lately. Last week for example, Davis hospital has 110 total beds in the facility, and we had 111 patients...yeah, figure that one out! It SUCKED! Anyway, we still have to move and there has been nothing even close to what we have right now and what we pay. WEll, just keep us in our prayers, it will all work out eventually!

So you will be able to tell by the spelling that this is not Nicole but I have to tell this story. So it turns out that we are living in our nice inexpensive apartment illegaly. Yes our landlady did not know that her house is not zoned to be a duel family dwelling. I had an idea that this was the case because we do not have our own mail box or garbage can. I guess that because of our apartment manager experience in Logan that people in the city just do not care. I was wrong because when Nicole decided to call and see if we could get our own can the lady informed us of the violation. So now we have 90 days to find a new apartment.
I think it is funny that in Logan we lived in, and managed such crapy apartments that violated so many city codes, even the occupency codes. The Logan city people knew that our apartments violated these codes but they just did not care to bother with it. So now that we have an apartment that is clean, does not have water constantly leaking through the cealings, and is not jimmy riged up from top to bottom, we get kicked out. I think that the apartment gods were just not satisfied with the fact that we were so comfortable.

New Haircut

Well I FINALLY decided to get my haircut and colored. Trust me, it's not that I didn't want to do it, it was to finally make the decision to spend the money on doing it. Anyway, thank goodness for a tax return, I did it. I love the result, it isn't much of a change, but I'm really glad I am back to having blonde in my hair. I just didn't feel like "myself" with such dark hair.

Anyway, it was fun! And Dave loves it too! :)

Josh is ONE!

Happy birthday to my sweet son Joshua! He turned one today, March 7th. Today has been a day of reflection for Dave and I. Besides remembering the day that Josh was born to us, we have really reflected about this entire year and how much Josh has changed our lives, and just how grateful we are for our son.

Today we just had a little birthday party and served cake and ice cream. Josh got some little toys, books and clothes(from me...and Dave). Also, he was able to taste cake and ice cream(that wasn't sugar-free). He GOBBLED it up! It was really fun to watch. After eating the cake and ice cream Josh got directly into the tub to clean off. After a few hours, and when the sugar level dropped in his blood, he finally went to sleep!

We had such a fun day! Because it's Josh's birthday, I thought I would talk about some of the things that Josh does that puts a smile on our faces!

He gets so excited everytime we get him ready to get into the bath. We usually undress him in his bedroom, and then he literally runs to the bathroom. It is so fun to see!

He loves reading books and flipping through the pages by himself, heaven forbid that mom or dad flip the pages! :)

He loves food. Anything that he can feed himself, he loves even more. I am pretty sure if he could live off of goldfish crackers, gram crackers, nutrigrain bars, and bananas, he would be happy!

He has the GREATEST laugh. When I get inpatient with him...very infrequently :)... he will just look at me and laugh and I can't help but laugh back at him.

He has the cutest smile! I could just look at him all day.

Even though now Josh puts himself to sleep, the occassional times that I get to put him to sleep, I could just watch him sleep for a very long time! He looks so angelic!

He still loves his green cup. I loves to hold it and shake it while walking around the house. I don't know what his facination is with it, but it makes me laugh.

I love getting Josh out of his crib after he wakes up. He is always so happy to see us. In fact, Dave and I always fight over who gets to get him, because he usually will cuddle with us when he wakes up! It's our favorite!

I love how his face lights up whenever he sees anyone he recognizes, like his Grandma and Grandpa Fisher!

Josh loves it when I let him get out of the shopping cart at the store and let him walk around! He goes nuts! He starts "talking" and laughing while walking down the isles! It's fun to see!

Anyway, I just want everyone to know just how grateful I am for this little boy! We love him so much and we love being his parents! We are blessed to have him! Happy Birthday Joshy!

My tax-return gift!

So here they are, my tax return washer and dryer! I am so excited to have a washer and dryer that are reliable and that actually wash and dry a load of laundry under 1 1/2 total time!

We got Kenmore's from Sears. Pretty good price! I was thinking about getting front loaders, but I really didn't want to spend more than $800 total. Anyway, I love them and they work great! Now it's fun to do laundry!

Farewell bottle!

So, Josh is so close now to being a year old and I couldn't be more thrilled, except for one thing! Getting rid of the BOTTLE! Josh has been drinking from a sippy cup since he was about 7 months old, but the only thing he has drank from it is water. I am now trying to get him to drink REAL milk from the sippy cup and it's not going over so well.
Any of you experience mom's out there, please, I'm asking for some suggestions! I would surely appreciate it!
I'm definitly ready for Josh to be done with the bottle, but I just need Josh to be done with it as well! Wish me luck! :)

My "Christmas" present!

For about 2 years I have been wanting a new entertainment center. I have looked EVERYWHERE! I also have been waiting for something that would be affordable, but everything has been VERY pricey! Anyway about a month ago I found this entertainment center on KSL.com for a very good deal. It is in wonderful condition, it's real wood (its a Broyhill piece), and they even delivered it! Now for the best part, we got it for $175(they wanted over $250 for it). Anyway, I love it, and I am way excited to decorate the top of it. In the pics I have just thrown a few things on it, not the actual decorations! If anyone has any suggestions let me know!

Lastly, I am most excited now Josh can't play with the cords on the tv and push all of the buttons on the DVD player and the receiver! I love it!

I am supposed to come up with 10 things that bug me and then tag 10 people. Here it goes...

1. CELL PHONES! Ok cell phones in general doesn't bother me, but people that talk on them while TRYING to drive bugs the heck out of me. Also, when I used to work at the bank I couldn't believe how people could completly ignore the person that was trying to help them because they were to busy talking on their cell phone. When I tell people that I don't own a cell phone people's jaws literally drop, and they all ask "well what do you do without a cell phone?" Usually I laugh and say, "I use telephones." Anyway, I hope no one get's offended by this, I definitly don't mean to offend, but I honestly get way bugged by this.

2. Bad drivers on the road. People that don't use blinkers, people that pull out in front of me and then go about 5 mph. Anyway, bad drivers in general bug me!

3. Flipping through television stations at a fast pace, without being able to actually see what's on!

4. Children who don't have any respect for adults or manners. I don't know what has happened but I swear a lot of kids these days are spoiled rotten brats who don't listen to adults and have absolutely no manners. (I sure hope I NEVER acted that way, because if I did, my butt would have been black and blue!)

5. Junk email. I get at least 10 emails per day that just bug me!

6. People that think that they are so much better than everyone else. "Holier than thou" attitudes. I met a lot of these kind throughout high school-college and I still meet them even at this age. It just bothers me to think that some people think that they are so perfect, when in reality they are being worse by looking down on others.

7. People that have an opinion about EVERYTHING! It's not that they just have opinions, but they think that their opinion is always right and are totally closed-minded to everyone else's opinions! That really bothers me!

8. Pessimistict (sp?) attitudes. You know, the-glass-is-half-empty kind of attitudes. Come on people, look for the silver-lining in every situation!

9. Lazy/needy patients. Ok you might have to be a nurse or CNA to REALLY understand this one and how TRULY irritating this one is. This last weekend was the worst for this one. I had 6 patients and I swear they were all so FREAKING whiny and lazy! Long story short, it's good to get out of bed once in a while, you can get up and turn the tv on yourself!

10. Call lights! If anyone else is a nurse, you will understand why call lights can bug you so very bad! Especially when people complain about that "you don't answer my call light fast enough". Well, if they didn't push that button EVERY OTHER MINUTE than maybe I would come faster because then I would think it's actually important! Argggggggggg! I understand the patient needs a call light, but they still bug the crap out of me! Oh, and whoever invented the call light...I don't like them!

Anyway, that felt kind of good to "vent"! I promise I don't get bugged by too many things. Anyway, I tag Mekell, Trisha, Malia, Melinda, Denise, Sarah, Erin, Melisa, Stacy

Josh's new talents!

Josh has decided that he can walk...I kid you not, about a two weeks ago he started taking a few steps here and there and now he walks EVERYWHERE! He honestly has great balance. He must get that from my side! (Dave knows he doesn't have very good balance...that's why he ran track! He had lots of speed, not a lot of coordination and balance! :) )

Anyway, he has been pulling himself to stand for a month and a half, he is talking so much...well, if you consider Ba-ba, Da-da, Ma-ma, Na-na, and Ga-ga talking!

Everyday Josh gets cuter and cuter, and his personality is coming out more and more every day. He is honestly so much fun to play with. I am enjoying this time with him so much. It's really fun to see what new things he'll do everyday and what new foods he'll eat! He isn't a picky eater, but if he could eat just goldfish crackers I think that he would! :)

Also, we went to his 9 month check up (even though is now 10 1/2 months old), and here are his most recent statistics: 24lbs, 29 1/2 inches tall, and 18 1/2 cm circumfrence of his head. I now call him my lollipop! (Large head and small body!) This check up was so nice, no shots! :) His 12month check up will be different though, lots of changes and lots of shots. yuck! I can't wait for him to be in a front-facing car seat, drinking regular milk, and no more bottles to clean! Can't wait!

P.S. Notice the cup in his hand? Well, today he decided that that cup is his new best friend! He carried it EVERYWHERE! It was really funny. Who needs to buy toys for kids? Just pull out random things and they'll love it! What a funny boy!

So we have had such a great holiday season this year. Dave and I decided that we wouldn't make a big deal about presents this year and just make a very LIMITED budget this year. It turned out really nice and we didn't have to worry about making sure to get a present for everyone. Instead we did very little gifts for everyone, including one another, and it was so nice. (I don't need anymore stress in our lives! :)

Anyway, a few days before Christmas we were invited up to Sarah and Chris's house in Providence and spent the day with them. We made homemade oreo cookies, made dinner and of course played their Wii. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunatly Josh started to get sick again, actually we think he didn't have a cold, he was just cutting 3 teeth at once...I know, fun for all of us! Anyway we had tons of fun with them and had tons of fun playing their new Wii fit games.

We came back and I got to work Christmas eve night..which totally sucked because I only had 2 patients all night... BORING! Dave and Josh went over to my dad and stepmom's house to have a big christmas eve dinner. They had prime rib and baked potatoes. Well, Dave was nice enough to bring me dinner, but forgot to bring anything for the potato and no silverware. Needless to say I completely appreciated the gesture, but didn't eat it. I didn't want to eat meat with just my hands and I have a hard enough time eating baked potatoes with stuff on it, let alone PLAIN! YUCK! Anyway...I got home at around 3:30am and then woke up at 8:30am. I was so excited for Josh's first Christmas. We had a lot of fun opening the few gifts we got each other. It was really nice. After we finished up here at our home, we headed over to Dad and Diane's house to have Christmas with them. We opened up gifts there and had lots of fun watching Josh enjoy his new toys and books. The rest of the day was just hanging out and enjoying our families company.

That is about it. It's been very nice and we have enjoyed spending so much time with family. Dave and I are so greatful for all that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with and feel so blessed everyday. We hope everyone had a great holiday and now, we wish you a Happy NEW YEAR!

10 Years!

I can't believe that my mom has been gone now for 10 years. It was 10 years today that my mom returned back to her Heavenly Father after a long battle with breast cancer. She was such an amazing mom and wife and we all miss her terribly. Being able to go through such a trial like this made me SO greatful for my testimony of the gospel. I have no idea how I could have gotten through something like this without it. I just want to tell everyone who reads this that I know that we are here on this earth to be tested and be able to gain a testimony of our Savior through those trials. I miss my mom so much but I know that she is happy and I know that this was part of the plan for our time on this earth. Thanks to my mom, I feel like I have become the person that I am, and I'm greatful for her amazing example, and I hope I can become more like her someday. I miss you mom! I love you so much!

Our New Place!

Here is one of my most favorite features of the apartment, the pantry! I honestly now have NO excuse to not have a food storage. The picture doesn't do this pantry justice. The shelves are about 24inches deep and 6 different levels of shelves. Anyway, I love it!

So, since I haven't posted anything for a very long time, I thought that I should tell you all what Dave and I have been up to. Well, we ended up moving out on December 6th, and I had this great plan that I would take that entire week to move little by little. Well, then Josh and I both got colds. Yeah. So, pretty much my energy was shot, because not only was I still having to play "mom" to a sick baby, I also was working 12 hour night shifts at the hospital. It sucked! Well, to say the least Dave ended up doing most of the moving on Thursday-Saturday. Thank goodness for him! And we are so greatful for my dad and especially my brother Chad for helping Dave move all of the "big" stuff! We pretty much took all of Saturday and moved in, put EVERYTHING away and even started to decorate..thanks to my sister-in-law Kami! She put away everything in our bathroom and then helped me decorate! We have such a great family! Thanks to everyone for helping out SO much! And thanks to Chad and Kami we now have a washer/dryer and a "new" couch! Thanks you both! We love you guys!

Well, since we moved in we didn't have a phone (well I didn't, because Dave uses the cell phone and I'll use the home phone), and we didn't have the internet. So Quest came and set everything up and we were so excited, until we got our first phone call, that ended up being for the lady who lives upstairs. Yeah, no one had ever put in a second line! So we called up Quest and they told us we were going to have to pay $100 to have someone come out and put in our new phone line. And if we wanted to pay another $60 we could have a second jack put in. I was freaking out because that is just a ton of money! Well, thank goodness for my husband...and my brother in law Keith. He knew how we could switch some wires around and create our new line. Well after some time, Dave got it to work! We were thrilled! Thanks Keith! You saved us $160!

So now everything is set up and I can finally relax! It feels so great to live on our own again! Don't get me wrong, living with Dad and Diane was WONDERFUL and we will ALWAYS be greatful, but it really feels good to be an "adult" again, even if now we are really poor! It feels very fulfilling!

Dave is almost done with his first semester of graduate school, and he has done AMAZING! He has two more finals and if he does well on these 2 tests he will have straight A's! Well done honey! I always knew you could do it!

I'm just working. I have been able to float to post-partum and that was a nice change, from being around lots of really sick people! I love seeing all of those new babies! Lots of fun! Hopefully one day I'll be able to work labor and delivery! I'd like to see if that would be something I'd like. Those were some of my greatest experiences in nursing school, so who knows! Someday!

Josh is growing like a weed! He is now over 9 months old and he is wanting to walk! He pulls himself up and moves back and forth between the couch and the recliner and his bouncer. He is getting into everything! He will keep me busy very soon! He is so much fun and has such a funny personality! He always makes Dave and I laugh! We love him so much and we are so excited to have Christmas with him here! Even though he could care less what is given to him, he'd be happy with a box wrapped with paper, just so he could rip it open!

Anyway, this post is getting way too long! That is about it...even though I know I'm leaving something out!

Here is our bathroom. It's actually a really big bathroom, and it even has a linen closet! (I know, it doesn't take much to please me, especially after our other apartment! :) )

Exciting news!

So, we FINALLY got an apartment! We are so excited to finally have our own place again! It is kind of a neat story. It starts back even before we moved from Logan. Dave and I had found a basement apartment in Layton that was so affordable, clean and in a safe neighborhood. Well, we applied for it but we didn't get it. I was so sad because the more we looked for an apartment, I realized just how expensive rent is in Davis county. Well, obviously we still haven't been able to find anything that Dave and I felt like were affordable and safe. So last week I had mentioned to Dave, "If we could just find an apartment like the basement apartment, that would be great."
The next day I happened to look on KSL.com and guess what, yup, that same basement apartment was back up for rent! So, I called the lady and she said that she remembered Dave and I from back in April, she said she would send us an apartment application.
Well, as of Saturday we now have an apartment! YEAH!!!!! We get to move December 1st.
Here is the low down of our basement apartment!
-2 bedroom , 1 bathroom (great sized rooms with walk in closets in both and organizer closets!)
-full sized kitchen (with a dishwasher, HUGE pantry)
-TONS of huge windows, so it doesn't feel so dark and "basement-like"
TONS and tons of storage!
Our own washer and dryer and more storage in the laundry room
Clean and safe neighborhood (it's actually in my old neighborhood, just down the road from my Dad and Diane's current house.)
Just down the road from my work.
And best of all, we are paying $625/month, and includes ALL of our utilities!
YEAHHHHHHHHH, I guess being patient pays off after all!

Halloween was so much fun for us! Luckily, I was put on-call so I didn't even have to work! Yeah! Anyway, the pictures didn't come in order, so I'll start with this one. This is actually at the end of the night, after we took Josh trick-or-treating! He really liked putting each individual candy in his mouth. We dressed him up as a puppy, and I decided to draw on his nose and cheeks with my eye liner! What a cute little puppy!

So, I have REALLY slacked off on blogging lately. I have found myself to be VERY busy with playing mom, wife and nurse! I have had lots going on, so I'll try to remember!

First and foremost, Josh is growing up so fast! I can't believe he is getting so big! First, I decided that he needed to get his haircut. His hair was sticking straight up and reached at least 2 inches off of his head. We took him to Dollar Cuts and this poor girl didn't know what was coming. I had JOsh sit on my lap and he SCREAMED the entire time she cut his hair. First she tried to use the scissors to cut his hair, but I told her it was just getting more and more uneven. So we decided to just buzz his head. It came out a lot shorter than I wanted, but now it looks so cute! He looks even more like Dave with this new hairdue!

Also, Josh decided to cut two teeth in about a 2 week time period! That sure was fun! Lots of ornery days! Thank goodness for Tylenol.

Then he had his 6 month well baby visit (which was about 1 month late, oh well!). He now weighs 22.4 lbs! He is such a big boy and is loving his vegetables and fruits! Now he is getting his little gerber treats. His can pick things up with his pointer finger and thumb! He is doing great! Also, he is JUST about to crawl. He is so close, I'm sure it's coming very soon, and there goes my sanity! Just kidding!

Dave has been very busy with school. He is doing great and loves what he is learning! I'm really proud of him.

I am just trying to stay sane! Work has been VERY busy! Lots of pneumonia patients! YUMMY! Oh well, I am liking my job. I'm learning a lot!

Anyway, I'm sure there is much more, but I can't remember right now!

Puppy or Cow?

So I bought this halloween outfit yesterday for Josh, and I thought it was so cute. I was thinking, oh he will look so cute as a cow. Well then I brought it home and looked at the tag and it said, it was a puppy outfit. Well, what do you all think it looks like? Well, honestly it doesn't matter! I think Josh looks cute no matter what!

Where did you meet? Dave and I first met in Logan, at second dam, over a camp fire roasting starbursts...I know, weird, but kind of yummy!

How long did you date before you got married? Dated for about 7 1/2 months and engaged for 4 1/2 months...way too long to be engaged!

How long have you been married? 2 1/2 years

What is your favorite feature of his? Definitly his eyes and his smile

What is your favorite quality of his? His patience with me, his testimony, his willingness to serve in the church, and definitly...the way he treats me and Josh. He's so wonderful.

Does he have a nickname for you? Oh boy, this could be embarrassing! He calls me honey, babe, honey bunny (only when he is TRYING to be funny!), and occassionally he calls me baby.

What is his favorite food? Honestly, he likes anything and everything. His favorite thing I make for him is chicken rolls, or meatballs and gravy with rice. His favorite thing he used to get as a kid is pork chops and gravy.

What is his favorite sport? Football (to watch), but he loves track and field (he ran for USU)

When and where was your first kiss? In my apartment, about 3 weeks after we started dating.

What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Just be together as a family. We love to be outside (when it's warm). We love to go on walks (especially at the park), we love going to the temple for our "date night". Be with friends, playing Wii, watching movies, swimming, ...lots of stuff!

Do you have any children? 1 beautiful little boy, Josh (now 7 months old!)

Does he have a hidden talent? I don't know if this can be considered a "hidden talent", but Dave doesn't need a lot of sleep in order to function(unlike me!). It has been very nice to have a husband who can survive on only a few hours of sleep and still be functional! Also, his other hidden talent is he can change a poopy diaper in under 30 seconds! Well done honey!

How old is he? 27 years old (He's almost a year YOUNGER than me!)

Who said "I love you" first? Ummm, he did, but it's kind of a funny story. It was about 4 months into our dating life, at about 2am in my apartments laundry room. We were standing there talking and I asked him if he was "feeling" anything special about me, and he looked at me funny and asked "what do you mean". I then said "you know, LOVE?" He gave me a big smile and said "yeah, of course I love you." And then I told him I loved him too. Here is the reason I did that, I didn't want to be the first one to say "I love You", just because I was afraid that I would be standing there saying I love you, and not get a response! (Even though, I knew he loved me) I told him I knew I had loved him for quite a while and it felt so good to finally acknowledge our feelings! After that day, we say "I love you" every single day!

What is his favorite type of music? Dave really isn't "into" music like some people. (Neither am I) But I can tell you he doesn't like country music, it bothers him!

What do you admire the most about him? The amount of love he has for the gospel, and his desire to be a good husband and father. I also admire his hard work with being a full time graduate student, and being a baby sitter many nights of the week while I'm at work!

Haleluja, "The Office" is back on with new episodes! Dave and I were getting pretty sick of watching old episodes, so thank goodness for September and all of the new episodes! I just want to thank our good friends, the Southams, for introducing us to this hilarious show. If it wasn't for their encouragement for getting us to watch this program, we would be missing out on some hilarious moments! And also, thanks to Ben and Melinda for allowing Dave and I to borrow your seasons of the Office so we could watch every single episode from the beginning! Thanks to all of you for getting Dave and I hooked on watching Pam and Jim, Dwight and a now "slightly slutty" Angela, the greatest looser Ryan, Meredith, Stanley, Creepy Creed, Phylis, Clueless Andy, "mentally challenged" Kevin, Oscar, Holly, Kelly, prego Jan, and of course Michael! Great News!

So we have some great and exciting news...I'm pregnant, again! JUST KIDDING! k that was dumb, that actually would be my greatest fear right now! Anyway, the REAL news is that my husband Dave, did AWESOME on his 3 exams he had on Tuesday! I'm so proud of him! He had an exam in Anatomy, his disection lab, and kinesiology class. He got an A on all 3! Way to go Dave! I am so proud of you! I told you that you are a genious! YEAH!

So this last week Josh has decided that he can sit up on his own. He really just did it by himself one day, it was crazy! He has such good balance already, he rarely falls forward, mostly just to the back. He can sit by himself for a few minutes really well! He is a strong kid! Also, I put him on the grass for the first time. He wasn't too sure about it but did pretty good, but after a few minutes he freaked out! He has been so much fun this last week. I think it is because he is feeling so much better this week. He has been so happy and laughs all of the time. It's great, and it makes you appreciate the times when your baby isn't sick!

This weekend has been a lot of fun. Friday my stepmom and dad left to Seattle to leave for there cruise up to Alaska so we have been PARTYING! NOT! Actually, I worked the last two nights (in the ICU...yuck!) so I was gone pretty much until Saturday morning. Saturday Dave took Josh and I on a date...to Sam's club for a hot dog and drink! I know, what a sweetheart! :) Actually it was fun! Then our friends from Logan, Matt and Tatiana (who now live in Toole) stopped by and we visited for a bit. It was so fun to see them. We haven't seen them since we moved from Logan. We have sure missed having friends live close to us! Then when they left we went to dinner to Chilis with my brother Chad and sister-in-law Kami with their boys Riley and Braden. It was so crowded and Josh was SO tired and ornery! Needless to say, we ate VERY fast and came home and put Josh to bed!

Overall it was fun! This week is going to be a busy one. Dave has his first big exams on Tuesday...wish him luck! And I am working Monday, Thursday and Friday! Yippy! Life as usual!

So last week Josh decided to get croup AGAIN! I couldn't believe it. This is TWICE within the last two months. It really scared me because of his father's medical history!(Dave has asthma and allergies, great combination.) Anyway, this month we are going without health insurance because Dave's insurance ended at the end of August and mine doesn't begin until October 1st. I had a feeling that something would happen this month. This is the first time in my life that I've ever been without health insurance and I just had a feeling something would happen.
Anyway, a week ago sunday Josh started acting like he didn't feel well. I thought he was just teething (which I think he really is because I could feel bigger bumps on his gums.). Anyway, Sunday night Dave and I were up with him because Josh kept waking up crying because he had such a stuffy nose. Well Monday night (actually Tuesday at 2am) we woke up to Josh breathing and coughing just like he had the time before when he had croup. What a way to wake up to your son having an extremely hard time breathing. It was really scary. Well I tried everything, taking him outside in the cooler air, that didn't work, then turned the shower on and sat with him in the bathroom, that didn't work, and then opened up the freezer and sat there in front of the freezer to see if that would help...well nothing made a difference. We decided we needed to take him to the ER. They ended up giving him 2 breathing treatments and then a decadron shot (steriod shot in the leg). Once we left he sounded 100% better, so we felt a lot better.
Well, we got the bill this last week, and it was for almost $1000! I almost passed out! I called the finance dept and told them that I was an employee there, but was in between insurance. Thank goodness they decided to take $500 off the bill. We were so greatful! Thank goodness for me working at Davis Hospital! Anyway, Josh is doing much better. But let me tell you, last week Dave and I were living off few hours of sleep each night! It sucks! Dave and I realize now just how spoiled we have been because Josh is usually a great sleeper! It is really hard to go back to waking up 2 or 3 times each night!
Anyway, besides Josh getting sick not much has happened. I work 3 days a week...which also makes me much more tired and Dave goes to school 4 times a week. We are MUCH busier these days, but we sure feel blessed! Heavenly Father is definitly answering all of our prayers! Thank goodness!

New Toy!

So I have taken many months deciding whether or not to spend the money on a bouncer for Josh. Well, since the last few weeks, all Josh wants to do is have me stand him up and I can't get much done. So I decided that I should try one (thanks to seeing one of my friends who bought one for their son and he loved it, thanks Melinda!). Halleluja! This thing is a life saver! He LOVES it! The first day we had it, he stayed in it for about a 1/2 hour at a time! That is a long time for him to be entertained! Anyway, it is really funny to see him in it. He jumps up and down and plays with all of the toys. It is really cute! Anyway, I thought I'd take some pictures of him in it! He never smiles when I take a picture, but I promise, he loves this thing! Totally worth the money!

First Bronco's Game!

So in tribute to the Denver Broncos first football game this year, he wanted me to dress Josh in his special Bronco's outfit. (We got this outfit from James and Trisha(Dave's brother and sister-in-law) last year for christmas...mind you, it is a 12 month sized outfit...yes, Josh is now 6 months old! He's a chunk!)

Anyway, we tried to have him wear the beanie that came along with the outift, but it doesn't even come close to fitting his head! It was funny seeing Dave trying to put it on his head! Hilarious! Josh wasn't too happy, but it's because he isn't feeling good! He AGAIN has a runny nose and is really stuffy. I'm pretty positive that he is getting teeth. I can feel them right under his gums. Poor kid...and poor parents, we are getting a LITTLE sleep. It really sucks! Hopefully they come through those gums very soon! Keep your fingers crossed!

This last Saturday we went to Hogle Zoo with my brother Chad and his wife Kami and there twin boys, Riley and Braden. It was beautiful weather and it wasn't too crowded. It was a lot of fun. Dave was more excited to be there than the kids! He was so cute! He hadn't been to a zoo since he was very little, so when he would see certain animals he would get just as excited as a little kid! It was way cute! Dave's favorite thing he saw was the penguins! They were really cute. We had lots of fun and can't wait to go back when Josh actually knows what he is looking at! He did so good there. He sat in his stroller for almost 2 hours straight, just enjoying looking at everything! He is such a good little boy!

Happy 27th Birthday to my sweet husband! We had a lot of fun for his birthday this last weekend. I had to work Sunday, but we decided to celebrate his birthday on Monday because he had class all day today. So Monday we just hung out as a family, went shopping at the Ogden mall (Dave's most favorite thing to do!), then went to dinner at Applebee's with my parents, and Dave's sister Sarah and brother in-law Chris. It was a lot of fun, even though Josh was pretty fussy. After dinner we went back to the house and ate cake and ice cream. Diane made the cake (a homemade chocolate cake) and I made the fudge icing! Yes, this cake takes a long time to make, but he's worth it. It's delicious! Then today, (his actual birthday day) I made him a yummy dinner (chicken cordon bleu) and then went to get ice cream at Dairy Queen, just the two of us. Diane watched Josh for us for a while. It was a really good weekend!
Dave is such a great husband and father. He is my best friend and I couldn't have a better companion for eternity. We always have so much fun together and love being with one another. He is such a blessing to me and Josh. I love you honey! Happy Birthday!

Saturday Night Fun!

Saturday night we were invited to hang out with some of Dave's friends from the mission. Alberto and Sarah and their twins (AJ and Alli), and Eric and Dianna and their 2 girls. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to get to know them better and let the guys remember some of their mission memories! It's too bad that Sarah and Alberto live in St George, they sure would be fun to have as neighbors! Maybe in a few years we could move down there! Great idea!

New Busy Life!

So I started my new life as a wife, mom, and an employed nurse! Boy has it been insane. So my shift is 3pm-3am, boy it would be perfect if I didn't have to be up early with Josh! I've always enjoyed working at night, but it sure screws up my sleeping cycle! It's been pretty good this last week because I've had Dave home with me to be able to watch Josh. This coming week though is Dave's first week of school! So now I am just trying to find some babysitters! I need babysitters for only a few hours a week, but I'm nervous to have other people watching Josh! It's a weird feeling!

Anyway, before I started work this week, Dave and I decided to have some fun so we went to Surf-N-Swim here in Layton. It was a lot of fun. I was suprised to see how well Josh did at the pool. We would take turns holding Josh in the pool, and ride the waves. Here are some pictures of Josh and Dave. Josh got so relaxed he fell asleep on Dave. It was so cute!

Today was an exciting day for me. The last week we would go get Josh out of his crib and he'd be laying on his back (he sleeps on his belly...I know I'm a bad mom for letting him sleep on his stomach!). We were so excited to see that he rolls over so we would try to get him to do it on the floor, but he NEVER would do it for us. I guess he just wanted to roll over without letting us see him. Well today after his afternoon nap, I again found him on his back, so I rolled him back over on his belly and he rolled right back onto his back! I was so excited to see him roll! He is 5 1/2 months old and he FINALLY rolled over for me! It was neat to see! It's amazing how fast he is growing! Next thing I know he will be crawling! I don't think I'm ready for that adventure!

New Job

So I finally decided on a new job. I was offered two different jobs (the only 2 I applied for) and I chose the one that paid more and was closer. I chose to work at Davis North Hospital on the medical floor. The cool thing is that I will be trained on each unit (except the ICU and ER) so I can eventually work anywhere in the hospital. I will be working the 3pm to 3am shift/ 3 times per week. I know, I'm nuts doing a shift like that with a baby, but it's much better than working 5pm-5am. I am actually excited to get back to work because I feel like my mind has turned to mush since Josh was born. I like to be challenged and I know it will be good for me.
I am just really sad that I am not one of the lucky mom's who gets to stay home with there baby! Oh well, in just 3 years, I can then stay at home! ONLY 3 YEARS! YUCK! Anyway, you have to do what you have to do, to be able to support your family!
Anyway, so I am officially employed! YIPPEE!

Happy Birthday to me...I'm OLD!

So this last weekend has been so nice. Since it was my birthday, Dave decided to take some time off. Friday he took a half a day off, so we got to go to the Bountiful temple for our stake temple night. It was so nice to go with Dave. Thank goodness for my sister-in-law Kami for watching Josh. I really appreciated her willingness to watch for Josh. Earlier that day I was able to go to lunch with my best friends from high school, Melisa and Ashly. It was a ton of fun to be with them. We are making it a tradition to go to lunch every month now. Melisa was able to tell us that she is now pregnant with her first! She is due in February. I am so excited for her! Congrats Melisa!

Saturday we were able to go get Dave some glasses so he can see! Dave has awesome insurance through his job right now, so we are taking advantage of it. Then we just stayed at home pretty much the rest of the day! It's nice to hang out together and veg in front of the tv watching the olympics! It's fun!

Sunday we had a big barbeque with my brother Chad and his family. It was so fun to hang out with them. Riley and Braden were a lot of fun to be with! They sure love playing with their uncle Dave! Some time this last weekend we went to the park. It was a lot of fun and Josh loved looking at all of the ducks, swinging on the swings, and just being outdoors. I got some cute pictures of us at the park.

Today, Dave let me use my birthday present (a 1 hour massage) this morning! It was soooooooo nice. I was so relaxed after the massage! It was the best birthday gift ever! After I got home, we decided to go get lunch and go swimming. We went to the Farmington pool for a few hours. Josh did so good! I actually really liked the water. No crying, just a lot of kicking! It was fun. Then tonight we went to dinner with my dad and stepmom Diane to Firehouse pizza in Centerville. YUMMY! That was a restuarant that was in Logan that we now miss! Thank goodness it is close again! I got a free dessert for my birthday! It was a lot of fun! It was a great birthday...one of the best actually! It has been so great spending the entire weekend, plus Monday, with Dave and Josh. I am so greatful for all the I have! I am truly blessed!

Lots going on!

This last week has been pretty crazy. First, Josh has had a runny nose for about a week,(I believe he is getting teeth!), then Thursday morning he woke up with a very distinct "barking" cough. When I sat there listening to him coughing like a little puppy, I remember learning in nursing school, barking cough=croup! I took him to the doctor, and sure enough he had it. They ended up giving him a breathing treatment, a shot in the leg and a chest x-ray. It was loads of fun! He is doing better, but it's been pretty rough. He sure doesn't sleep as good as he normally does...which we sure miss! Anyway, he is doing better day by day, but I am sure ready for him to be done with the stuffy nose and cough! I haven't felt this sleep deprived since Josh was a newborn! I don't miss those sleepless nights!

Just two days ago, I was noticing how all of a sudden Josh was now grabbing both of his feet! It is so funny, he finally realized that he could grab those toes! It's funny to watch.

Then on Friday, I had my first official job interview. I interviewed at Ogden Regional Hospital, for a job on the medical floor. They offered me the position, but I told the manager if I could have a week to think about it. I have another job interview at Davis North Hospital (here in Layton), and I am really anticipating that interview because I think it might be a better choice. Who knows! Well, I guess I am just not that excited to go back to work, but I know it is only for a while...well, 3 years! Lot's of mom's have to work...I guess I'm just one of them!

Then last night, Dave and I thought it would be fun to go hit some balls and the batting cages at Swan Lakes golf course! It was a lot of fun! I did pretty good...guess all of those years of playing still help! It was a lot of fun! I always look forward to the weekends, so I can spend my time with Dave! We always have fun together! Oh yeah, he did good too! It was a lot of fun!

Josh's update!

I took Josh to his 4 month appointment (even though he is almost 5 months old), and it went really well. He is doing all that he is expected to do...except for rolling over. I imagine it would be difficult to roll his entire body over. There is a lot of body weight to roll! He now weighs 18.5 pounds, is 25 inches long and has a head circumference of 44cm! He is a big boy! He got all of his shots, and did really well. He cried pretty hard, but calmed down pretty quickly!

I took this picture the other day when I was REALLY bored. I found this "diaper cover" that has a ducks face on it. It was given to me at one of my baby showers. Kind of interesting! Anyway, he sure looks cute...especially when I took it off and put it on his head!

On saturday we went to the Roy city pool with my brother Chad and his twin boys, Riley and Braden. We had a lot of fun with them. Josh did remarkably well. He was so tired by the time we got home. Lets just say, he slept from 9:00pm to 8:30am the next day. It was awesome! I love spending time with my boys! Lots of fun!

First Cereal!

Now that Josh is officially 4 months old, I decided that it was time to try feeding him his rice cereal with a spoon, instead of in his bottle. Anyway, we tried it out last night and he did really well for the first time. Honestly, it was probably the funniest thing that I have seen Josh do. While feeding him, he decided to start blowing bubbles...but instead of bubbles it was his cereal, and it went all over his face! It was so funny. Here are some pictures of him during the feeding. Josh enjoyed his first 4th of July celebration! We went to the Layton parade and then had to go home to let Josh take a nap, and we needed to get out of the heat. (Babies don't do well in the heat when they are this young!) Anyway, we then had to go to Walmart, along with the rest of Layton, then we had a nice barbeque with the whole family. Later that night we rented a movie, "The Bucket List" (which by the way is very good!), then put Josh to sleep, then Dave and I went out back to watch the Layton fireworks. They were very good and fun to see. Dave and I were talking about how much our lives have changed ever since Josh was born. It's amazing how our lives now revolve around this tiny little human! We feel so greatful to have such a wonderful little boy! He is the joy in our life!

So, since Josh was born we have known that he enjoys sucking on his hands. Well, just this past week, I can't seem to get the kid to stop sucking on as many fingers as he can stick in his mouth! It drives me crazy! I sure wish he would suck on a binky, but he won't let that happen! (The reason I have behind that is, when he's older I can take a binky away, not fingers!) Anyway, I have taken some pictures to capture his new favorite pastime! He's such a cute little stinker!

My days consist of one thing, JOSH! As every mother knows, your days start blending into each other and you forget what day it is, let a lone care about what day it is! Anyway, I get pretty bored during the week, but I find that I really enjoy just taking pictures of Josh. He is showing his personality more and more every day. Not only is his personality growing, but his body! I know, people can't believe that he is only 3 1/2 months old. He's a big, healthy boy! I just thought people might enjoy seeing how cute he is! Don't you just want to eat his cheeks? I get to all day!

So if anyone knew this about me, I always used to say that I always wanted a baby that would pull the "bottom lip" on me. It used to make my heart melt. Well, the Lord blessed me with a child that ALWAYS is pulling the bottom lip on me! I used to just melt when he did it, and I would always feel bad. Now, it melts my heart and I laugh when he does it! He does it when he isn't getting the attention that he feels that he deserves! It makes me laugh! He is so cute!

Summer Fun?

So I decided that I would buy Josh a little baby pool, you know, to give us SOMETHING to do during the days. Well, anytime I try to put him in the pool, this is what happens. He just doesn't like it very much. I guess I'll try putting nice warm water in the pool, then hopefully he'll enjoy it!

At bed time, Josh gets so tired that he laughs at everything. Hearing Josh laugh is the greatest thing that I could have ever imagined. So even though we are all tired, I honestly look forward to this time at night. Plus, Dave gets him laughing so hard, it wears him out even more, so then he sleeps really well! (I try all day to get Josh to laugh like this, but he waits for Dave to get him to laugh...he loves Dave so much! It's great!)

So lately Josh's favorite thing to do is to stand up. (With my help of course, he is only 3 1/2 months old!) The other day he was doing this and I thought he looked so cute, so I took a picture of him. Well, obviously the camera must have been at a funny angle, because as you can see, Josh's head looks like it takes up 2/3 of his body! He looks so funny! I thought I would share this picture! I can't believe it has already been 2 years since Dave and I were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake temple! It has honestly been a wonderful 2 years, full of fun memories, and life changing events! I love Dave so much, and am so greatful for all that he does for Josh and I. He is an amazing husband and father! He is my best friend, and I am proud to call him my husband! I love you David Bruce Gray! I'm looking forward to the next 50 years...actually eternity!

It has almost been 10 years since my mom passed away from breast cancer. I can't believe how time can fly! I miss very much and think about her every single day. But I know that she wants me to be happy, and thank goodness...I'm extremely happy! Here is Josh's first time to see his "heavenly" Grandma's headstone. (Doesn't he look thrilled?!)

So finally we were able to bless our son! It was really neat because we were able to do it the weekend that Dave's entire family was in Utah for Sarah and Chris's wedding. Dave did a wonderful job on the blessing.( He made me cry...which isn't really hard to do, I'm a big baby!) We blessed him on May 25, 2008! What a great day!

At Sarah and Chris's wedding, they had it at a country club in Sandy, and it had a bowling alley in the basement! It was intended for the little kids to use so they wouldn't get bored...but the "big" kids loved bowling as well. As for the women...we enjoyed watching our husbands bowl! It was a lot of fun!
